Traction and Road Holding
- One of the mostly asked questions is: "how can E36 M3 handle on the road with 1000hp?"
- Owners of Euro M3s know that even 321hp (or 286 hp S50B30) had lots of wheel spin and the driver has to make corrective actions with the steering wheel and throttle. We as DA MOTORSPORT offer chasis modifications and a tire brand that in combination allow a "perfect and excellent" traction
- For a perfect traction and handling, Euro M3 undergoes the following chasis modifications:
A- Stiffer sport shock absorbers are installed
B- Special springs are used, it is not correct to make M3 as stiff as possible. The correct stiffness allows optimum traction
C- Thicker sway bars replace original sway bars
D- Front tower brace made by DA MOTORSPORT increases chasis rigidity and prevents the front towers from cracking and flexing
E- Rear tower brace made by DA MOTORSPORT increases chasis rigidity and prevents the
rear towers from cracking and flexing
F- X-brace increases chasis rigidity by connecting the front chasis arms in a stronger manner, X- brace adds a lot of rigidity and improves handling extremely. M3 communicates better and gives more feed back to the driver with the help of X-brace
G- A custom made DA MOTORSPORT traction sheet is installed to the rear subframe. This rear subframe shield increases rigidity and improves traction a lot. Even standard M3s should be equipped with our traction sheet
H- 245-40-17, or as an option 255-35-18 tires of a brand are used. We do not want to advertise for these tires, however they are sold all around the world and are sticking
like glue to the road
After all of these chasis modifications are applied, the 1000 horsepower M3 turbo feels as if you are driving a four wheel drive sports car with 345-30-18 tires. On fast mountain roads or on high speed bends, M3 Turbo is magnificent, holds its line with determination and offers communication to the driver. Many people think that wider tires provide more grip but this is not correct, it is a combination of chasis modifications and tire brand that give traction and handling. M3 Turbo can go full throttle from 100 to 200 km/h in serious bends and curves, with sticking to its line throughout the bend. Customers who own M3 Turbo or people who have been driven in the M3 Turbo were amazed when they saw how M3 Turbo sticks to the tarmac during high speed cornering
- Note: Traction and road holding modifications are not included in the main price, they are optional
