I no longer have the E46 any more
so can't take a picture of the phone actually fitted but it looked totally OEM which was the aim. I also assume that the same parts apply for the touring as the coupé but the dealer will confirm if slightly different.I'm assuming you've already got bluetooth fitted and have the phone paired no problem.
You'll need the following 3 parts:
1) Phone cradle, part number 84 212 199 389 (basic iphone4 cradle)
2) Eject box, part number 84 212 153 098 (updated box that the cradle fits into and the original trim surround goes round it)
3) Adaptor cable, part number 84 109 205 271(changes some pin-outs and fits on the end of the original cable and plugs into new eject box)
Points to note:
1) Text messages will not show on the screen though you probably know this.
2) Once in the cradle reception improves slightly and you obviously get charging of the phone.
3) No music function, if you want this then you need to go the intravee/dice etc route.
4) Answering and closing calls from the steering wheel button no problem as well as voice dialling if enabled/available.
Main thing it all looks OEM. As long as you carefully remove the bits highlighted and check as you go all will be good.
